Nutritional Labeling on the Front of Packaging in Latin America and the Caribbean. Guideline Note.

2022 – The document reviews the literature on front-of-package food labeling, considering publications between 2012 and 2021, and consulting FAO focal points and experts in the region. Forty-five studies were selected: five from Argentina, six from Brazil, ten from Chile, four from Colombia, five from Mexico, six from Peru, and nine from Uruguay. The objective of this guideline note is to gather and present evidence on the implementation and evaluation of front-of-package nutrition labeling (FOPNL) policies in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the aim of supporting member states in their application.
