Front of Package Labeling Virtual Public Meeting

The Reagan-Udall Foundation held a virtual public meeting on front-of-pack (FOP) nutrition labeling. An overview was presented of the work carried out to date regarding FOP nutrition labeling, including an update on the results of ongoing research on consumer choice of FOP (including 2023 data).
A space was opened for brief public comments on three key topics: international experience with front-of-pack labeling, design considerations such as placement and color, and the possible intersection with other nutrition-related policies. Comments were provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), Auburn University, the Consumer Brands Association, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Healthy Eating.
