The objective of this study was to investigate whether the habit of alcohol consumption of parents is a predictor of alcohol consumption among high school students in the country. The prediction variables and the response variables in the study were categorical, so the descriptive and univariate analysis consisted in the calculation of frequencies and percentages. A bivariate analysis was performed using Pearson’s Chi Square to evaluate the significant differences in the response variables between the groups. The logistic regression model was used in the multivariate analysis to determine the predictor variables that were significantly associated with the response variables. Having parents who drink only during the weekend, sometimes during the week and every day, was associated in a significantly positive way with the consumption of alcohol in the last month. Having mothers who drink only on special occasions was a risk factor for alcohol consumption in the last year and the previous monthhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29682922
